I'm a Dream Weaver, are you?
Digg!

I'm not much of a blogger, but every Mother's Day I try to think of something unique to give to the woman who inspires me more than anyone on this earth.  All her life she has given positive encouragement to everyone she knows and she deserves a tribute, like so many mothers who give unselfishly to those they love.  Happy Mother's Day, Mom :)

I'm thankful for many things, but most of all, I'm thankful for my mother.  She challenged each of us to be the best we can be, dream big, and then go after that dream because you can do anything you want... if you want it so bad you can feel it with a sense of excitement that can't be denied.

I see dreams come to fruition every day and I think about what sets those apart who reach their goals.

You can dream and keep it to yourself, but to reach a goal, you need to vocalize your dream.  What fun is it to have aspirations and not have support from those who mean the most to you?

So, how do you gain support of your dream so you have time to work toward it?  Dreams don't come true without hard work, so time is always an obstacle.

Share your dream and tell your support network what's in it for them when you reach each goal.  Divide the tasks up into short term goals that are realistically attainable with some stretching on your part.  Delegate tasks to others who are helping you with your goal and share your success together.  Set a date to celebrate by doing something they want to do, so it's not just your goal, but their goal too.

Are the dishes piling up, laundry needs done, and dinner needs cooked?  If someone else can do those tasks, how much time will you have to work on your dream?  Can you let go of the things you feel are your responsibility?  Are you a team player and do you want your children to succeed?  They need dreams too - do you know what they are?  Are you teaching them how to attain their goals?  Are you celebrating your successes together?

Love is shown in many ways, but dream weaving will last a lifetime.  Mothers everywhere are dreaming big dreams for their children and I want to thank mine for making me a dream weaver.  Passing it forward to our own children is even more fun than experiencing it ourselves.

What is your dream?  Have you said it out loud, set your goals, and gathered your team to reach for the stars?

Today is a good day for dream weaving...
